About Me

One of my goals for 2007 was to blog, and so it began. My original intent was to post some of my photos and write about my passion for plants and living things, hence the name: A Passion for Green.  In 2011 I finished an interdisciplinary masters degree at the beautiful Iowa State University campus.  You can read my thesis here!  I currently work with children in the Ames Community School District and live in Ames, Iowa.

  1. Hi!! I found your site by looking for pictures of suburbia. I’m writing a post about city versus country living and could use your picture if you don’t mind. By the way I like the name of your site and the colors. It’s a lot like mine! I see you’ve been blogging for almost 3 years now! Amazing!! I’d love your opinion on my site if you have time and any tips you can give me.

Thanks for sharing through your blog!!

    Sherry

  2. Hi. Found your blog today!
Enjoyed reading your posts very much… when I should have been getting myself to bed. I share your love of green things and sustainability. For many years I wrote for The Human Ecologist magazine and worked on school IAQ projects.
I, too, have a Word Press blog:

And I also have one kid–a son. He’ll be in Spain fall semester if all goes well.

You could add a subscription wiki or however your spell that to your blog. 😉 Ah, I see I can be notified of new posts clicking below.

  3. Hello! I am working in the Study Abroad Center at ISU and was hoping I could use one of your VEISHEA pictures for a promotional video. Please let me know if hat would be alright.
    Thanks!

  4. Hi there,

I too am a painter, looking for some inspiration to paint a new pastel, to place in our newly re-decorated kitchen.. I am hoping you are OK with me using the photo of the birches, and your parent’s old home?

You have an eye for composition. Anticipating a positive repsonse,

    Thankyou very much,

    Jill.

    1. Sure Gina! Thanks for checking out my blog. I hope to upgrade my WordPress, get more space for my photos and start blogging again over Christmas break. Have you seen the building explosion going on in Ames this year? Good luck, Jo. Ann
