I’ve been so excited to see a lot of purple put out there for fall this year. I decided to go ahead and keep my tradition of changing the decor with the seasons since I moved to my new place, at least I’ll make changes in the bedroom. For fall I really heat it up, to fight off the approaching cold, you know. The photo on my little table is of my sister at her retirement dinner. She was a principal and had to have her portrait made to go on the wall with the other former chiefs! I love this picture and it reminds me of how amazing she is! While I was in Poland, she had my car detailed for me, DETAILED, mind you, which I have never done in my life! And she bought me a bike rack which I hope to use for the first time tomorrow!
Along with the purple and pink, I have reds and oranges too.
I have some of my own oil paintings to go with my fall decor. I love to paint…and I don’t care what anyone else thinks about my painting! That’s the best way to paint, just paint for yourself. This is my version of blurred fall grasses on fire with the light of a pink and orange sunset! Or…..just a lot of pretty colored brush strokes. And yes, my apartment smelled like my grandma’s apartment for a week or so! She took up oil painting when she was in her 70’s!
This is gorgeous, Jo! Maybe we should have a painting party. Count me in. I’ve never painted before, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to try.
